Plans to open new, state-of-the-art premises in Mrieħel are in the pipeline for E.J. Busuttil Ltd. A site within the Mrieħel Industrial Estate has already been located for the new building, which will allow the company to expand further its operations and cater more effectively to the growing demands of the diverse business sectors it services within the scientific, medical and pharmaceutical industries.
Expanding operations to a larger premises
E.J. Busuttil Ltd currently employs over 25 members of staff working from a converted premises on two floors, alongside various storage facilities in Birkirkara. Due to the rapid development and growth experienced in recent years, a new site has been identified that can accommodate the wider scope of the organisation and plans are being drawn to to design a venue with better and more advanced features that can meet the needs of the company in the future.
The company’s vision is to own a multi-purpose building with a modern touch that also complements the sense of caring and attention to technical detail the company stands for as one of Malta’s leading healthcare companies. Furthermore, the new premises will have open plan offices that will be used for meetings, commercial presentations, social interactions, and general communication. Additionally natural lighting, the use of solar and wind energy, insulation, and damp-proofing will enhance the building’s energy efficiency profile.
Providing a better workplace for our professionals
The proposed site will address certain shortcomings of the present location due to growth in the company’s staff. The new premises will include a basement with private parking space for the company’s vehicles, visitors, and contract workers. Additionally, throughout the building there will be several designated spaces for recreation, a waste storage area, and archives. More efficient loading/unloading areas will also be included around the premises, which will be serviced with access-controlled lifts and dedicated loading and unloading bays.
Other features include provision for a comprehensive IT network and the installation of security systems, including CCTV cameras, store-keeping facilities, security alarms, T/A readers for personnel administration, and power supplies. A cold room and freezer will also be included in the new premises, with the possibility for further developments in the future. Finally, the premises will be designed in a way that ensures maintenance and cleaning can be carried out more efficiently.
